Striking Ocean-Front - #SS1

It was so easy to find. Great location. Very clean and nicely decorated. Loved the fireplace in the evening. The 2 full baths were nice. The queen bed was very comfortable. With the sound of the waves breaking. You sleep like a baby! Last but not least. The deck was awesome. Having coffee, looking out at the ocean in the morning. We had beautiful sunny days while we were there also. Just one issue that we had. We wanted to watch the 49er game Sunday night. The streaming system wasn't working on the t.v. But still I would highly recommend this place

Highly recommend this property. First, the property manager was the best. We had TV issues; after trying on the phone to fix it, she came by and fixed it! Second, the property is on a cliff over the beach - no obstructed views. Quiet cul-de-sac. Third, it was very close to Hearst Castle - our main reason for staying there. Last, the kitchen was well stocked - grocery store is close by. It was very comfortable and clean. I would rent this place again!

We have rented this location twice and we love it. It is a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. It is 10 minutes from Cambria. Excellent location for long walks and enjoying a book on the deck. The beach is not very easy to walk down to so I you have it mostly to yourself . Would recommend for adults it isn’t super child friendly as it’s a bit of a climb down to the beach.

The property has a grungy entrance hallway and the inside needs attention. Although not disclosed, the space is one of four condos with a common entrance, so security was a potential issue. The gas company turned off the gas in one of the condos during our first day. When we asked the property manager's office for additional tissues and toilet paper - started with only 2 partial boxes of tissues, they said they "only provide enough to get you started..." and we had to go buy our own. One would think that a $3863 stay would merit a new box of tissues! The final straw was a bogus accusation of damaged furniture that was retracted when challenged. We will be using other providers in the future.

I was looking for a nice place to stay for our 38th wedding anniversary. I found it. The place was amazing. The house was perfect and cozy. Love all the windows to see the ocean. The deck was a perfect place to bbq and sit and enjoy the beautiful view. I did not want to leave. So glad I found this perfect spot.

We loved everything about this place. The location can not be beat. Amazing sunsets everyday, and sleeping to the sound of the waves crashing. There is a great surf spot right outside. So I was able to enjoy surfing while my family watched from the balcony.
The inside of the condo was so clean and had everything we needed. It also felt very safe and secure. We were sad to leave but can’t wait to return.
The only downside is that the windows are very low to the ground and did not have screens. The bed in the kids room is pushed next to a window with no screen, and it’s a straight fall down. The condo gets pretty warm near the end of the day due to direct sunlight. Having windows open was a must. I would recommend that the owner screen all the windows and rearrange the bedroom. We have 2 young children so it was a bit scary at first.

My family and I absolutely loved everything about this place and would highly recommend to future visitors. Coming from a hot landlocked place like Arizona, it goes without saying that this place blew us away with the proximity to the water and the constant smells, sights and sounds of the nearby ocean. While the pictures do give the view some justice, you can't underestimate how fantastic the deck scene is whether watching the marine layer come in or the amazing sunsets.

The inside was exactly what we needed from the updated kitchen, washer and dryer and the comfort of the indoor fireplace. We brought a toddler, so the ability to walk to the beach to play in the sand was perfect. The smart tv was also a plus, as it was really easy to sign into the streaming sites that we enjoy.

We appreciated the service from Breen and they really helped us when we left behind our child's favorite stuffed animal. We had heard about the wine tasting in the region, elephant seals and Hearst Castle, which were as good as advertised, but my wife fell in love with Cambria and the friendly people and shops along the main street.

We loved the location and the area of San Simeon. It was quiet and uncrowded, which was exactly what we were looking for.

This place is the closest we will ever get to owning a home right on the ocean. I have always wondered what that would be like, and now I know. Absolutely amazing views from the deck overlooking the beach directly below, with the occasional seagull perching right on the railing. The location is extremely quiet, being the only structure around except for one pair of condos a little ways away on one side, and nothing but coastal bluffs on the other. The bedrooms and bathrooms had plenty of space (we only used the master bedroom), and the living room was very comfortable. We could have stayed in this place for a month, and I am sure that we will return to it in the future. The only downside (4 stars for general condition instead of 5) was that the internet wifi was rather sporadic during the day. It was usually fine from early evening on, but tended to cut out in the morning and was off and on during the day. The realty staff indicated that this was not a problem specifically with this residence, but rather for the entire service area for all clients of the sole internet provider for the local area, and that there was not much to be done about it. Anyway, we could always get Netflix at night, and there is nothing better than relaxing on the deck with that view during the day! (It should be noted that actually getting down to the beach involves a bit of work.) The kitchen, while not large, was entirely satisfactory. It is within walking distance of a fine Mexican restaurant, and of course the elephant seals are just 5 miles up the road, and Cambria just 5 minutes to the south. A truly delightful place to stay!

Fabulous setting, great views, adjacent bluff/beach walking trail. The place is very nice, in a 4 plex but was mostly empty during our stay. Breen staff are very friendly and helpful.

The condo is in a beautiful location with a beautiful beach and well appointed. Two major problems however. First, the sliding glass door to the patio's beautiful views of the coast didn't work. It took myself and my companion to pull it open and closed each time. Called the maintenance man and he said he had lubed the door slide. What is really needed is a door guy to fix the door rollers or replace the entire slider door so renters can see the patio view! Second, the front windows, including slider, have salt spray blocking all view. We finally sprayed tap water on them and used the hall bathroom's squeegee to clean them. Tell your guests that! But the north facing window of the ocean is unreachable, maybe your maintenance guy can hose them? Bird **** was all over them.

This is a large spacious unit. Recently stayed 10 days. Very quiet. Fully stocked kitchen, two bedrooms, very clean and of course a spectacular view of the ocean..........sunset every nite!!

We loved that the house was so close to the water and relatively isolated compared to most beach homes we have stayed in. It was very clean and we had everything we needed for a relaxing, quiet vacation. We would definitely stay here again.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The view was beautiful and the condo was something that I would proudly like to call my home. The only complaint is that the windows needed to be cleaned from the ocean/bird duty. In fact, we cleaned the one window from the deck, but could not get the rest. The only problem is that we love to BBQ and no where to BBQ. The nice patio deck needs a small bistro set or table and chairs to enjoy the view and drink cocktails and eating dinner in the evening, while enjoying the beautiful view.

We have stayed in this property several times. We always enjoy the great views and pounding surf!

Enjoyable week-long visit.
Clean and comfortable upper unit w/un-obstructed ocean view.
Entrance a little awkward for transfering luggage etc. to and from unit via two locked corridor doors leading to staircase,but no more so than a hotel I suppose.
First impression of this entance was less than impressive though as it was somewhat dirty(bugs/cobwebs) An Association issue perhaps.
Patios for BBQ etc are located off this corridor and rather inconvienient for this purpose.
Great visit overall though.

Breen vacation staff made it very easy with the rental process. We had the best (quiet) vacation which is exactly what we were looking for. I hate to recomend THIS house because I'm afraid it won't be available the next time we want to rent it!

If ocean views, glowing sunsets, the serenity that silence brings, and beach activities right out your door make you smile; this is your place. The images you see on the website of the unit are very accurate and the water views really are as advertised. Pheiffer state park is 2 1/2 he's away, Cambria is 5 mins down the road, and great wine tasting is 30 mins of driving ( check out Hunt winery's Sirah port). Be lazy, be active, it's all there waiting for you. I was there for a month and was never bored. Come here and enjoy!

Cozy Beach House for a fun filled time to spend with family and friends.

This is a very comfortable, well-equipped home, in a spectacular location.

Better than we expected. Excellent location--right on the beach.

Being by the ocean on a beautiful rugged beach is a real treat for us who live in the desert.

We had a great time as usual.

My family was there for a conference. We need quiet for my daughter with autism as well as a well organized place with space. We enjoyed ourselves so much This place was TOGETHER

Just a few suggestions. When we checked in we were told (by Danielle) that we could have a late check out, which was not the case, so we unfortunately had to rush out on our last day. The BBQ was very dirty and needed cleaning, as well as the windows,
so we could enjoy the beautiful view. The management team came out to do take care of both within the next day or so which was helpful and made the stay even more spectacular. I know we will return soon. Thank you to the kind neighbors who made the stay even
more enjoyable. We would highly suggest the location to others !

The location is absolutely breathtaking. The condo itself is very nice but needs new beds (very uncomfortable), the rugs look very tacky and worn out, the sliding door to the deck is difficult to open and it would be easy to fix, one of the plastic chairs blew away and broke on the deck - not good to use plastic in such a windy area. But, the location makes up for the need of some upgrading.

Finding your condo was an absolute fluke, just happened to notive the sign off the highway for vacation rentals. The whole booking proceedure from start to finish took no more than an hour with us driving to view the property, not believing our luck to driving back and signing the paperwork. Our only regret was that we couldn't have stayed longer as it was so perfect. You (I think cathy) were so helpful and the owner of the property so generous with the facilaties provided. In England if you rent a self catering facility you get nothing apart from crockery, so you need to take everything like salt, pepper, herbs, spices, oils etc etc. This was like home from home with well stocked cupboards, hope we added to this for you as my husband is a chef. The view was amazing and the condo absolute luxury with such a lived in and homely feeling. Would so love to return one day.

My whole loves this beautiful beachfront property. Great vacation getaway.

The 1st entry door look needs to be replaced ASAP. The property manager had to come to location to assist in opening as after 5 minutes of trying we gave up. No remote for the living room TV - was broken and on order - yes I'm lazy and hate to get up to change channels! Slding glass door to patio very difficult to open - needs to be "greased". Other than those 3 items we loved the property, found it very cozy and comfortable and the location was incredible! The sound of the surf soothing you to sleep each night was unbelievable!

I also thought that the blinds in the master suite should have been replaced due to the multiple broken slats. A bit more TLC is needed in the ongoing maintenance of this property and would go a long way with paying customers.

We spent 4 days there this August and it was wonderful. The property manager and staff were extremely helpful (best in the area!!!) and very accomodating. The sewer line repairs somewhat spoiled the stay (beware that the sewer line is just right down the beach between the condos and the hotel).
The property was clean and the view was simply increadable.

Our family have stayed many times at Balboa Bluffs in the past two years, and we wouldn't even consider another location in the San Simeon/Cambria area. The home is located on the top floor of a four condo complex. The view is breathtaking, as the home is located on a bluff with a quiet beach below. The beach is easily accessible via a trail to the left of the home -just a scenic two minute walk along the bluff. We have often sat on the balcony and watched whales and dolphins not that far from shore. The sea lions are delightfully daring and playful, coming within a few feet of the shoreline. We have at times awakened to see a sea lion resting on the beach just below us.
The home is beautifully and comfortably furnished, with a well equipped full kitchen. I don't mind doing the dishes with such a spectacular view of the ocean.
The quaint town of Cambria is a leisurely 10 minutes or so drive from the home, and there are numerous magnificent view points, beaches and tide pool areas within a 30 minute scenic drive.
All of the staff at Breen Realty have been wonderful throughout the years. Bob Kaspar, the property manager, is personable and diligent, quickly responding to e-mails and phone calls.
This home, and all at Breen Realty, are rare treasures in California.

Couldn't get enough. Staying at that beautiful property, with exquisite sunsets and watching the waves come in...awesome! Those memories will be with us forever and ever.

Our Auntie, my two adult daughters & myself had our first girls weekend together. It was just a perfect weekend.
From the time we entered the front door we all loved it. SOOOOO relaxing. The view from every window just breath taking. Plus the fireplace was such a special touch. We could have stayed forever.

We will be back...We are planning our next trip.

I would recommend providing additional sponges and cooking oil for guests.

This condo was really cozy & in a perfect location. We drove for about 3 hours to get here, but it was well worth it ! A great place to refresh and relax. We plan to return again.

One thing that would be great is if the windows on the outside were cleaned. It would help with the view. Luckily, there was some cleaning supplies os that I could clean the windows I could reach. Otherwise, everything else was perfect!!

Had a good time during the stay. However should have more detailed information regarding what conveniences are provided on the property.

Also, no number on the property, kind of difficlult to locate the right apartment.

A few minor things need attention. Light bulb out in hall bathroom. Light out over outside garage door..could not find switch for light in entry (went to dinner so very dark trying to find way in). Some of the kitchen dishes, utensils could have been cleaner. Also only 4 knives. Overall great place... we have stayed there before and it is very comfortable.

Our enire family had a wonderful vacation and look forward to our next visit!!!!

The only suggestion is to provide internet service. It is available through the local cable system and should be offered to guests as a convenience.

This was our 4th trip to the San Simeon/Cambria area and our 3rd stay at this location. We can't seem to get enough of it! The beautiful view of the ocean and the sound of the waves makes it all worthwhile. It is totally relaxing! We recommend it 100%.

This house could be much better and needs some tlc. The sliding doors and windows tracks need cleaning to operate properly. We cleaned the living room slider and it worked much better. The place otherwise should be spruced up a bit to eliminate a slightly shabby look. The equipment was very good but there should be grill and an umbrella for the deck.

1. the 3 locked entry doors to get to condo.
2. the difficult and steep beach access.
3. the condo was dog friendly but the lady that lived below wasn't.

The only problem was the constuction for several days done by owner of a nearby unit. Othwise, we had a perfect stay Thank you

The location was great, the biggest complaint that we have with this property was the accomodations in the master bedroom. you ad stated a Queen size bed. This was NOT a Queen size bed. It was a Double bed. We have a Queen size bed at home and this bed was about half the size. My wife and I had NO room to stretch out at night. Also I hated the matterras. It was very hard, like sleeping on a board. I woke up each morning with a stiff back and neck. The pillows were flat as a pancake. The bed was so high off the ground we needed a ladder to get into bed. the sofa in the bedroom, was so close to the ground that it was hard on my bad knees to get in and out of the sofa. I absolutely hated sleeping in this bedroom. I NEVER got one good nights rest at all.
It was a terrible experience for us. This ruined the vacation for my family.

The first five questions have no place to give my answer, so, the first four answers are: 5, 5, 5, and 5. The property management person at the office, where we went to pick up the keys I will rate a 2. The property management person with whom we arranged the rental by email and phone I will rate a 5. The house was very well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, etc. The exception was a frying pan. We scrambled eggs in a wok. But this was minor. We thoroughly enjoyed the Condo.

my only complaint was that the windows facing the ocean were very dirty but we found the cleaner.

One of the beds in the guest room was flea infested. We did not sleep in it but my wife had her clothes lying on it and then found fleas on herself. We think we should get our cleaning fee back or at least part of it, given this.
